Join the Wake Forest Law Accountable Prosecutor Project and Criminal Justice Program, the Wake Forest Slavery, Race, and Memory Project, and the Foundation for Prosecutorial Accountability on Monday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. for a conversation with Dr. Yusef Salaam, author of Better, Not Bitter: Living on Purpose in the Pursuit of Racial Justice. Dr. Salaam is a prison abolitionist and inspirational speaker, discussing the effects of incarceration and the devastating impact of disenfranchisement. He is also an advocate and educator on issues of mass incarceration, police brutality and misconduct, press ethics and bias, race and law, and the disparities in the criminal justice system, especially for men of color. Moderated by Professor Kami Chavis, Vice Provost and the Director of the Criminal Justice Program at Wake Forest Law. Limited copies of Better, Not Bitter available to attendees at no cost.
